DeSean Jackson Unlikely to Start Against Titans Due to Concussion

DeSean Jackson Unlikely to Start Against Titans Due to Concussion – DeSean Jackson, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, who took a devastating hit on Sunday, will most likely not start against the Tennessee Titans next Sunday, coach Andy Reid said on Monday in a video statement on the official NFL site.

In the 31 – 17 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Jackson had a helmet-to-helmet collision with Atlanta cornerback Dunta Robinson who was trying to make a tackle. “I would say its a … real stretch for him to make it this weekend,” Reid said via a live newsfeed. Robinson also had a concussion and was flagged for the hit.

DeSean Jackson has a concussion and has quite a little bit of soreness in his shoulder and neck area,” he said. The concussion is “severe,” according to the NFL.

Reid added that he’s in “good spirits.” Jackson, after the hit, said that he could not remember the hit.

“It’s not like amnesia set in,” Reid said. “He remembered his touchdowns and all the things that happened.”

Kevin Kolb, who was starting in placed of the injured Michael Vick, will have a “pretty good chance” of starting next week. ( )
